Opto-X-Nano will be back in Okayama in Autumn 2026

Scope

A significant scientific effort worldwide is directed towards developing novel materials and their integration into innovative emerging technologies. Renewable energy solutions, sophisticated and reliable healthcare diagnoses, and precise and non-destructive nanoscale metrology tools are among the ubiquitous needs of our society. For the non-destructive, reliable, and fast characterization of materials/devices, the electromagnetic radiation (spanning from X-rays to optical to THz) radiations offer unique opportunities with highly promising perspectives. In particular, radiation-based analytical techniques are also highly relevant for art and cultural heritage analysis, restoration, and preservation.

This international symposium is intended to give an overview of the current status and future trends of the three above-listed topics, with particular attention paid to the applications and technology transfer.

SCOPE:
1. Synthesis and development of new materials/nano materials by advanced physical and chemical processing (including 1D, 2D, and 3D materials/structures).

2. Advanced characterization techniques and metrology tools involving electromagnetic radiation, electron or ion beam interaction with matter (this includes all the spectrum from X-rays to optical to THz radiations)

3. Current and emerging devices and technologies associated with the above two axes, with a particular emphasis for ICT, Microwave/Terahertz, Optoelectronics, Renewable Energy and Energy storage, health and cultural heritage conservation.

The conference's overall objective is to offer an open forum where both young and established researchers are encouraged to interact and exchange with the industry sector and end users to identify and address scientific and technological challenges in the fields of advanced materials, sophisticated metrologies, health diagnoses, and sustainable and energy solutions.
